Adam Welch is a multi-Emmy-winning cinematographer who lives and works in the Des Moines, IA area. Creativity has been a part of Adam’s life since he was young, but it wasn’t until he was introduced to the original Star Wars trilogy that his love for filmmaking began. After high school, Adam served six years on active duty in the Air Force, during which time he studied film and television production.
Adam eventually moved back to Iowa and has since been involved in numerous commercials, documentaries, music videos, and short films. While at Iowa PBS, Adam dived deep into telling the personal stories of individuals across Iowa, bringing their unique experiences to life. As a cinematographer, Adam sees attention to detail and clear communication as the keys to a successful project and ensures that everyone has the information and tools they need to do their best.
Adam is also a military storyteller in the Air National Guard, capturing photos and videos of those who serve in uniform and sharing their stories. Outside of cinematography, Adam enjoys taking photos, staying fit, and building Lego.
