Adam Welch is an Emmy Award-winning camera professional with more than 15 years of experience in narrative film, documentary, commercial, and broadcast production. While his background includes extensive work as a cinematographer, his passion lies in the camera department—supporting directors of photography through technical precision, preparation, and dependable on-set collaboration as a 1st Assistant Camera, Focus Puller, and Camera Assistant.

Throughout his career, Adam has worked on feature documentaries, television series, commercials, live productions, and award-winning short films. His credits include The Pope's Visit to Iowa, Tractor Wars, Our Great State Fair, Meredith Willson: America's Music Man, Historic Buildings of Iowa, Iowa Life, Road Trip Iowa, Studio 3 Live, and A&E's Interrogation Raw. His work has also contributed to multiple Regional Emmy Award-winning productions at Iowa PBS.

As a camera department professional, Adam brings a deep understanding of cinematography along with the technical discipline required to keep productions moving efficiently. His experience includes camera builds, lens management, focus pulling, wireless follow-focus systems, camera prep, media handling, and maintaining camera continuity throughout production. Having worked closely with directors of photography across narrative, commercial, and broadcast sets, he understands what DPs need from their camera team and takes pride in anticipating those needs before they're asked.

In addition to his production work, Adam oversees projects from concept through final delivery. This experience has strengthened his ability to communicate across departments, solve problems under pressure, and maintain a calm, organized workflow in fast-paced production environments.

Adam's background in documentary storytelling, military public affairs, commercial production, and narrative filmmaking has prepared him to adapt quickly to productions of every size. Whether working on an independent short film, commercial campaign, documentary, or broadcast production, he approaches every project with professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to helping the camera department operate at its highest level.

Based in Waukee, Iowa, Adam is available for productions throughout the Midwest and regularly travels nationwide for camera department work.
